Your social security rights when moving in Europe

The EU Commission has developed a very useful practical guide, which provides you with easily understandable information about your rights and obligations in the field of social security. It is strongly recommended that, before moving to another country in the European Union, you familiarize yourself with the appropriate chapters of this guide.
There you find answers to questions such as:

  • In which country are you insured?

  • What are your rights and obligations in this country?

  • What you should know in the event of sickness or maternity

  • Accidents at work and occupational diseases

  • Invalidity - still a problem

  • Who pays my pension?

  • In the event of death: survivor's benefits and death grants

  • What to do in the event of unemployment?

  • What about family benefits?

Which are my rights as a:

  • Frontier worker

  • Seasonal worker

  • Posted worker

  • Pensioner

  • Student

  • Tourist

  • Non-active person

  • Third-country national
