proposal approved by LO/TCO, Sweden and SIF and Finans-S to assist unions in Eastern Europe and
Central Asia.
Purpose
WebPages, Bulletins,
Newspapers, Leaflets, Press releases and tingle tangle are important tools
to spread the union message to members and new members. UNI Online which
is about connecting unions around the world now launches in Eastern Europe and Central Asia with
unions in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova,
Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. Main objectives of the project are:
- donation of IT
equipment;
- Internet connection and email;
- software training;
- training in communication and running campaigns in print and on the web;
- grow networking and integration into UNI's global network.
Methodology
The first
Visibility workshop on how to get the union message across will be
organised in Moscow from 7 to 11 November 2005. Noel Howell, UNI Editor is
responsible for the workshop contents which will focus on
campaigning, journalistic and web skills, headline news, lay-out and design, photographs, media and
other public contacts. Information officers, web-masters, negotiators and
organisers will be invited to attend these Visibility workshops of which three are planned for the
region in 2005 and 2006.
The project is sponsored by Handels and SIF and LO-TCO in Sweden.
