Croatia: Uni Commerce starts organising project as multinational retailers enter the country Together with the commerce trade union, Uni Commerce has launched an organising project in Croatia. Many of the major European multinationals are now entering this country, building up supermarket networks, discount stores and cash and carry markets. The organising project, supported by Norwegian Uni Commerce affiliate HK, is targeting these companies.
Part of a larger Uni Commerce organising drive, the Croatian project will also comprise a web site and an information network, which will help union representatives and members to work together in this country, where distances between different parts are often long. This week, Bojana Adzic, the new union organiser, participates in a Uni seminar for webmasters in Nyon, Switzerland. She has also met with Jan Furstenborg, head of the Uni Commerce department, to discuss how the project will be set up.
