Football fans come to see football - not to shop. Margret
Mönig-Raane, vice president of German UNI-affiliate ver.di draws a
clear conclusion from the experiences of longer opening hours during
this summer's world championships.
These are not only words. The trade union leader is supported by a
picture gallery on
the ver.di website, with full sports arenas, and empty stores.

The retail trade employees, who would very much have liked to
experience this football celebration live were standing still with
their legs numb waiting in vain for customers, Margret Mönig-Raane
says.
