Japan's Mycal seeks
cooperation with Wal-Mart, Carrefour?
Japan's fourth largest supermarket
operator Mycal is said to be in discussions with Wal-Mart and Carrefour
about a possible alliance. Mycal is in deep trouble as it has been
unable to pay off its large investments, which turned sour when
consumption went down. The company now plans to shut down 50 of its 230
stores.
