Marathon negotiations
with Sainsbury's subsidiary: UFCW concludes collective agreement with Shaw's Supermarkets Uni Commerce affiliate UFCW has reached a collective agreement deal with Shaw's Supermarkets. This followed six weeks of negotiating, which almost ended in a strike late last week. The new agreement will run for three years. It includes wage and benefits increases, which the union says compare favorably with industry levels. The collective agreement covers 7,000 workers in 38 supermarkets in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. |
