The European Social Dialogue in Commerce UNI-Europa Commerce, which is the European region of UNI Commerce, is engaged in an active European social dialogue with its counterpart, EuroCommerce. The dialogue concerns the 22 million commercial workers in the Member States in the European Union and millions more in the candidate countries. It covers a broad range of issues, with employment being the priority. Agreements are concluded, conferences arranged and research projects conducted. 2002 The statement was signed in Brussels on 6 November 2002 in the presence of Mr Bernard Jansen, director of the European social dialogue.
Guidelines supporting age diversity in commerce The agreement was signed in Barcelona, Spain on 11 March 2002. This was during the Spanish presidency, which raised age diversity as one of its main social and employment issues.

It also confirms the resolve of the social partners to develop further what already is the most active of all social dialogues within the European Union.
