Unions identify eight
global divides
29.01.2001
Union leaders have
identified eight global divides that remain large - or are getting wider

push social agenda in Davos
Brussels/Geneva,
January 24 2001 (ICFTU OnLine):
"Respect for basic trade union rights, a new approach to global
solidarity, collective bargaining and global partnership are central to
bridge the increasing gaps that divide societies and countries into those
that benefit from globalisation and those that feel threatened by it".
This is the message that a nine-member team of senior labour leaders will
bring to Davos where the World Economic Forum meets on January 25-30. Full
