We are trade union members from around the world as well as concerned citizens. We support the industrial action that our colleagues and friends from IBM Italy were forced to enter into. We ask you, Andrea Pontremoli, CEO and President of IBM Italy, to re-sign a decent collective agreement for all IBM workers in Italy - with the Italian trade unions. It’s time to share the “Big Blue’s” huge profits with its hard-working and loyal staff. Paying them a fair share means investing in human resources, which will have a positive impact on IBM’s innovation, productivity and competitiveness. It is not a feature of enlightened management to change terms and conditions in a unilateral way. A modern management in Europe should always seek social dialogue and consensus-based decisions, which are mutually beneficial. It’s no surprise hundreds of IBM employees from more than 18 countries are joining the first virtual protest in history, in Second Life. Thank you.
