Forum,
Protaras
(Cyprus): 10-12 June 2009
UNI
would like to invite affiliated unions to participate in the next
Forum on Communications we will organise in
Protaras,
Cyprus
in June 2009.
We’d particularly like to see staff involved with communications
at the event, for example:
-
Campaign
& Organising officers who need these tools which improve
their work,
-
Webmasters
– from “techies” to web editors,
-
as
well as your Journalists or press officers.
The
Forum will take place at the TETYK Hotel (www.etyk.org.cy)
which belongs to our affiliate ETYK, from
Wednesday 10th June (starting at 10am), to Friday
12th June 2009 (ending at 4pm).
Now more
than ever, we need to polish our union message and improve its
delivery to ensure that workers’ rights are respected. With all of
the new Web 2.0 tools available, spreading the union message is
faster, easier and more fun. The forum’s
programme will focus on driving press coverage and public
awareness of union issues and campaigns by taking advantage of
social networking, virtual worlds, video and photo-sharing and other
tools on the Internet. We will also discuss media strategy and how
to write for the Web.
