T
he UNI Professional and Managerial Staff Committee operates at worldwide and regional levels with 150 organisations taking part in its work.
The Sector has pioneered a Passport to help the increasing army of mobile professional and managerial workers keep their union protection and assistance as they cross borders to work.
At world level, the P&MS Committee represents the interests of professional and managerial staff with international organisations like the UN, ILO and OECD. A UNI Engineer Forum has been set up under the auspices of the P&MS Committee in order to serve those affiliates with engineers in membership.
The European activities of the P&MS Committee have been linked with Eurocadres, which was created in 1993 as a joint operation of the ETUC and Euro-FIET. The secretariat of Eurocadres is organised by UNI Europa in Brussels.
The European P&MS Committee meets together with the UNI World P&MS Committee.
A new committee has been created in UNI Americas and this is under consideration in UNI Africa and UNI-Apro.
Great potential for growth is seen in the area - particularly in the regions and in the engineering sector.
