Day: fair deal call for US workers 01.09.2008
UNI global union’s Philip Jennings has made
a TV Labor Day appeal for a fair deal for US workers.
His call comes as the share of national wealth
won by workers in the United States has been squeezed, as the super-rich
get even richer...

While CHINA
BLUE shows how the global economic system leaves the Chinese factory
owner with few choices, it also explores in detail what that means for
the workers. CHINA
BLUE, which was made without permission from the Chinese
authorities, offers an alarming report on the economic pressures applied
by Western companies and the resulting human consequences, as the real
profits are made—and kept—in first-world countries. The unexpected
ending makes the connection between the exploited workers and U.S.
consumers even clearer.

Violent action against Allianz Korea union
Allianz Korea
attacked 20 union members who tried to install an outdoor tent for
action in front of the AK head office in Seoul. The company hired
security guards who exercised violent action against protesters,
even though they were warned many times that there was a pregant
woman. In
the video the union members keep shouting "don't touch the
pregnant woman!".
Private Equity on collision course
UNI global union and
its unions took the campaign against the greed of private equity on to
their home territory on 26 February - PE’s "Super Returns
Summit" in Munich.
