Danish social partners in commerce

launched major project in Sarajevo

Sören B. Henriksen and Jörgen Hoppe, the leaders of Denmark's social partners in commerce, have personally followed up the initiative to furnish, equip and develop the Economy School of Sarajevo. The school is situated on the former frontline in  the centre of the city and was badly destroyed during the war.

The Danish social partners in commerce, FIET-affiliated HK Handel and employers' organisation Dansk Handel & Service have launched their large reconstruction and development project with the Economy School of Sarajevo. Reconstructed by the government of the Federation of BiH with a credit from the Islamic Bank, the school will now be furnished and equipped with the help of the Danish social partners. An important part of the project is to help the Economy School develop its teaching program, in close co-operation with the Tietgen University of Denmark.

Classes have already started in the newly renovated school building after the first sets of furniture were delivered some days ago. Jan Furstenborg of FIET met with the school's management in Sarajevo earlier this week and agreed on how the project would be implemented. On behalf of the Danish social partners, the FIET project organisation in Sarajevo is in charge of implementation of this important project. The project is supported by the Danish government.
