Commerce and finance
coordinating committees meet in Doboj
The commercial and financial workers' coordinating committees in Bosnia and Herzegovina will meet in Doboj on 20 - 21 August. This is the first time that they meet together in the Serb Republic. The commerce committee was established in 1997, soon after the Dayton Peace Agreement was concluded. The finance trade unions launched a similar committee one year later. Consisting of executive board members from the Sarajevo and Banja Luka - Laktashi based trade unions, the committees deal with the issues that the Dayton agreement defines as joint concerns. They also provide a forum for an exchange of views and experiences and for launching joint initiatives. Increasingly, the Uni project activities in commerce and finance are held on a joint basis for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is mainly the basic training courses which are still held within the entities whereas almost all advanced level events are joint. The women trade unionists have established their joint structure and integrated all their activities. At the Doboj meeting, Uni Commerce will be represented by Jan Furstenborg and Alex Rüdig. Magnus Neuberg from the Nordic finance trade unions will also be present. |
