Germany enters e-commerce age:
In three years, one sixth of all business transactions over the internet

Germany wants to be a front runner in e-commerce. In 2003, 15 per cent of all business transactions will take place over the Internet. According to the German newspaper Die Welt, the government expects 750,000 new workplaces to be created in this sector until year 2010. There was, however, no mention about how many workplaces would be lost in other sectors, such as traditional commerce.
