B2B e-commerce takes
off: GlobalNetXchange transactions over one billion dollars - how about the jobs? GlobalNetXchange, the large business to business marketplace, has now passed the one billion USD mark with its transactions. Established early last year, the exchange has conducted 1,000 transactions. The online auctions and negotiations are now establishing themselves as a realistic trading alternative both for their retailers and suppliers. As to the future employment effects in retail and wholesale trade, little is still known. It is, however, reasonable to expect that many jobs will be lost in the part of commerce which deals with business to business relations.
