Amazon
will close centre in Netherlands
Amazon.com will close its customer service centre in the Hague, Netherlands. The 240 workers must either move to service centres in the United Kingdom or Germany, or lose their jobs. Altogether, the American net retailer has 1,800 workers in Europe. Amazon has recently been accused of giving misleading information about last year's results. The company has denied that it has tried to make things look better than they are. Also in the United States, Amazon has cut staff. Trade unions have said that the company has singled out those work-places for closing down, where workers have organised. |
