Amazon.com survive - the largest e-tailer is in serious trouble
The future of Amazon.com is now being questioned. Already for some time, it has been said that the company has bigger liquidity problems than what it has admitted. Suppliers may start to get nervous about the credits that they are extending. At a meeting of investors and analysts in New York on 28 February, rumours about an impending bankruptcy of Amazon were discussed. The company has strongly denied that its economic situation would be as bad as some of the analysts have indicated. Amazon has also been involved in a conflict on trade union organising at its home market in the United States. It has not wanted to accept that workers join their unions and has been said to have closed some workplaces because of high unionisation rates. Yesterday, Amazon shares were valued at 9 USD against 75 USD a year ago. |
