Kaufhof, Galeries
Lafayette and Vendex to create partnership?
Metro's department store company Kaufhof is said to be discussing partnerships with other leading European traders. Particularly French Galeries Lafayette and Dutch Vendex have been mentioned as probable partners. Earlier, also other possibilities have been mentioned, such as Spain's El Corte Ingles and some British enterprises. The co-operation would take the form of an exchange of capital, up to a share of 49 per cent. Metro, who does not comment on this information, has until now not gone abroad with its Galeria Kaufhof department store concept.
