Tesco looking for US e-commerce partner

The British retail giant Tesco is looking for a partner to help it establish an e-retailing operation on the American market. Already the largest e-grocer in the world, Tesco has developed a concept which could be more profitable than that of its U.S. competitors. The market analyst firm Datamonitor reports that the UK retail giant is already in talks with an American top 20 retailer.

Instead of operating from dedicated warehouses, Tesco uses its own store network for deliveries. If it finds a leading U.S. retailer as a partner, it can enter the world's largest consumer market with the same approach that has proved successful in the United Kingdom.

Recently, Tesco announced that it will start its web based grocery operation also in South Korea, a country where a large part of the population have Internet access.
