Wal-Mart ASDA strike has
been cancelled - agreement reached with TUC help The Wal-Mart Asda distribution centre strike, which was to begin at midnight, has been called off. An agreement has now been reached with the help of British trade union confederation TUC. It includes setting up a structure for national consultations between staff and managers. Paul Kenny, general secretary of GMB, is pleased with the agreement: - This new agreement heralds a new, fresh approach to representation and bargaining between the company and the GMB, he said to the BBC.
