Refused to hire
pregnant woman: Wal-Mart pays USD 200,000 to end discrimination lawsuit U.S. retail giant Wal-Mart has agreed to pay an Arizona woman 200,000 US Dollars to end a discrimination lawsuit, where the company was charged by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The settlement follows three trials, says the Arizona Business Gazette, including one where the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the evidence showed not only that Wal-Mart had refused to hire the woman solely because of her pregnancy but that the chain "fabricated" stories about the woman's application. |
