Uni-FIET Commerce and Finance Projects and activities in South-Eastern Europe

Solidarity action in Bosnia and Herzegovina and other activities in south-eastern Europe

Since 1996, first FIET Commerce and then UNI Commerce Global Union have conducted a large solidarity project in the commerce and finance sectors of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on behalf of affiliates in Nordic and other European countries. A contribution to the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, the project activities have spanned a wide range of education and training, infrastructure building and social services. The FIET trade union solidarity project in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a humanitarian organisation registered in the country, which implements the project on behalf of the donors.

These web pages tell mainly about the first project years, which were often marked by very difficult conditions. Recently, the project has focused on more traditional trade union development activities - and with less publicity.
