Wal-Mart caught for using
child labour in the United States
In altogether 1,463 cases, Wal-Mart has been caught for using child labour in the U.S. State of Maine. In some Wal-Mart stores, there were more than 300 cases where child labour laws were violated. Teenagers had been used by Wal-Mart for working hours in excess of the maximum allowed. For these child labour violations, the company was fined 205,605 Dollars. In Maine, legislation prohibits underage teenagers to work long hours, while allowing them to have jobs which they can manage while still taking care of their school obligations. |
